Best value premium features outstanding picture

Best value premium features outstanding picture Prior TV was 75UM8070 2019 model with IPS panel. That was an excellent TV but my space called for a bigger screen. We have a wide seating area which is why I went with the IPS panel and it delivered as promised with good color and brightness retention with off-axis viewing. Having read other reviewers here and elsewhere that said this VA panel gave nearly as good side viewing we gave it a try. I am pleased to say the reviews were accurate not as good as the IP panel but entirely acceptable to my wife who made wide viewing a must have. The VA panel on the 82UN8570 delivers very good contrast on center with good black levels a bias light on the rear of the TV helps perceived black levels looks cool and is recommended. There is no local dimming on this model but to me blooming is extremely distracting and most non-OLEDs have some amd I prefer by far a slightly lifted black level to a poor backlight implementation. Overall the picture quality is fantastic. The sound quality was a big suurprise over the 75UM8070. The Alpha 7 g3 processor and the new AI sound model is amazing. It calibrates the audio using the Magic remotes microphone and after this is done it delivers clear loud and full sound. I would say it rivals even good soundbars and is usable/fine for most viewing. I have a 7.1.2 system that is better obviously but the internal speakers are even suitable for movie watching if you dont have an AV system. I you add a subwoffer the internal system would literally ROCK. The Alpha 7 G3 delivers other benefits. The menu system is snappy important if you are a menu tweaker like myself. I am confident that it does good voodoo with the picture like the sound but I cant say how except the picture looks great and motion handling is great so far I have turned off all motion smootng as it does well with the native 120Hz panel. Having said that the motion smoothing works well and the A7G3 adds a natural setting as well that works unobtrusively. It also plays much better with my Onkyo receiver correctly identifying all the sources hooked up to it and showing these sourves on the dashboard. Again a step up from my prior A7G2 TV. Yet another pleasant surprise of the A7G3 and the latest version of Web OS was the onboard web browser. It is fast and as usable as a decent tablet. A inexpensive wireless keyboard with a USB receiver works well with a mouse pad on it and I can browse almost as well on the TV as on a computer Bonus There is a wide selection of apps on Web OS but not all of the majors are available. I attached a Chromecast with Google TV and it works/looks great and gives me off-list apps like Gaia HBO Max etc. Waiting for Zoom to be available to try hooking up a web camerra to see if WebOS will handle it. The inclusion of HDMI 2.1 ports may prove useful here besides the obvious benefits to gaming and 4k Blueray. Those HDMI 2.1 ports are good future proofing making this TV a keepere for the forseeable future. The bottom line on the 82UN8670 is that it is a mid-tier set with premium features an excellent contrasty picture with very good not great side viewing and a budget level price. As another reviewer noted the entire 8570 line is a very good value but the 82 models VA panel makes it a somewhat unique proposition in the LG lineup. I am very pleased overall and recommend this for those who want a leading edge TV that manages to stay off the bleeding edge of TVs costing much more to deliver a similar experience. In other words if you like quality and youre frugal like I am this TV is a great choice.

I PURCHASED THIS TV IN MARCH 21 AFTER 6 SIX LATER A LG TV HAD TO COME OVER BECAUSE THE TV DIDNT POWER ON THE TECH HAD TO REPLACED MOTHER BOARD OR POWER BOARD NOT SURE WHICH I AM NOT TV TECH. NOW ITS BEEN ABOUT 7 MONTH LATER AND THE TV WONT POWER AGAIN. I SPEND OVER 1800 FOR A TV THAT LAST ME LESS THAN 2 YEARS REALLY I PURCHASED CHEAPER MODELS AND BRAND THAT LASTED YEARS. THIS TELL ME TO STATY AWAY FROM LG PRODUCTS. VERY UNSAT.
